Counseling is extremely personal and individualized to your needs, so it is difficult to predict what may happen without meeting you first. Sometimes a counseling session feels like the only place where you can truly let go. Sometimes it feels like the home you never had. And sometimes it feels like a kick in the pants! You can expect our counselors to be kind and non-judgemental, but also to call you on any BS and to challenge you… and to always only lead you as far as you need to go and to support you through every step.

It is difficult to know how long you may need to heal, since every person’s circumstances are so different. Some problems are easily addressed within a couple months, and others take years. However, your counselor may be able to give you some guidance around this after getting to know you in the first couple sessions.

Our counselors follow a variety of faiths, and we respect one another’s beliefs. Counseling and religion are both deeply personal so it is common that you may want to discuss your religion, beliefs, and even doubts in counseling. All discussion and exploration is welcome, and you can rest assured that our counselors will not try to convince you of any particular set of beliefs.

It is ok to ask to work with a LDS, Christian, other faiths or Religious therapist or a therapist that is not.

Absolutely, all of our therapists will help you no matter where you are in your journey. They will help you identify your goals and values and support you in working towards that.

We also have a few therapists that specialize in Faith Transitions and have extended knowledge and understanding in being part of being part of and leaving a high demand religion.

We communicate regularly with parents and will suggest family therapy if an open dialogue is needed.

We also assess each child/teen’s needs and communicate with parents as necessary in emergencies.

There is a difference between confidentiality within sessions with children, tweens, teens and young adults. The older your teen becomes the more confidentiality between client and counselor is imperative for a successful and trusting counseling relationship. Therefore, for our older teens and young adults we generally do not share the content of psychotherapy sessions with parents (except in predetermined cases around safety). This will be a conversation with your Teen/Young Adult and their therapist.

Medication can be helpful for many people who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and many other issues. Medication can be effective for many people but is generally shown to be most effective when paired with psychotherapy.

If we believe medication may help, we will provide you a referral. As licensed counselors, we do not provide prescriptions for medication. We are happy to work with your physician if you are currently receiving medication.

Sessions are typically 53 minutes long unless otherwise specified.

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards.

We also accept bishop pay and some insurances.

You are responsible for your copay and all fees your insurance or third-party don’t or refuse to cover.

If you are working with a third-party who is paying (such as a Bishop/Church leader, vocational rehabilitation, etc.), you will need to coordinate this payment in advance and sign a Release of Information so that the proper party can be billed for the services rendered.

Some insurances don’t allow all plans to be covered OR all therapists to be covered, it is your responsibility to verify with your insurance and plan coverage.

OUT OF NETWORK - Insurance providers will reimburse individuals for mental health therapy sessions. We can provide the necessary receipt information, called a “Superbill”, upon your request. Most insurance companies will reimburse between 40-80%.

You are responsible for your copay and all fees your insurance does not cover.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. That means ALL appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

Your first no-show or late cancellation will be billed at 50% of the FULL RATE session fee (this is not the insurance rate). Every session after that will be billed at 100% of the FULL RATE session fee.

***If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
